The gleam of golden threads. Fall Winter 2025 Qand x ZhSaken

On October 18, Qand, together with Saken Zhaksibayev, unveiled the new Fall–Winter 2025 collection — “The Radiance of Golden Threads,” inspired by the art of Bukhara gold embroidery. That evening, history and modernity met at the Qand boutique — every element of the collection became a reflection of the cultural dialogue between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.The Gold of Bukhara — a Thread Connecting GenerationsThe idea for the collection was born from an appreciation of Bukhara’s great heritage — the art of gold embroidery, a craft in which every movement of the needle becomes a symbol of memory, beauty, and continuity.

Historian and friend of the brand Binafsha Nodyr inspired the Qand team to explore this theme, reminding us that gold embroidery is not merely a craft, but a form of spiritual heritage passed down through generations.

In the patterns of Bukhara artisans, one can trace not only the ornaments of the East — but also ancient symbols of protection, prosperity, and dignity.Qand and Saken ZhaksibayevThe creation of the collection became a collaboration with Kazakh designer Saken Zhaksibayev, known for his ability to merge traditional forms with contemporary silhouettes. The shared idea — to represent the dialogue between two brotherly nations, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan — found expression in the design of the collection’s gift boxes.

During their research, the Qand team discovered that Abai Kunanbayev was deeply inspired by the works of Alisher Navoi. This insight sparked the concept of portraying their symbolic dialogue — Abai reaching out to Navoi across time.The Yurt of TimeThe Qand | ZhSaken 2025 collection includes two exclusive gift boxes, each telling its own story.

“The Yurt of Time” is a limited edition of twenty miniature yurts — a symbol of warmth, home, and unity. The choice of form is not accidental: the yurt connects the two nations, while the ornaments on each box intertwine Kazakh and Uzbek motifs into a single harmonious design.

“Dialogue Through Time” is the centerpiece of the collection. For this box, artist Murod Azlarhodjaev (@art_trio_uz) created a miniature depicting Navoi and Abai at the center of a circle — the timeless symbol of eternity. Along its border runs authentic Bukhara embroidery crafted by EZAZA Embroidery & Art, while the background evokes the shanyrak, the dome of a yurt. On the left are Kazakh patterns; on the right — Uzbek ones. The poets face one another as silhouettes against a starry sky — a bridge between epochs and cultures.

Inside the box plays an original composition by Qaraqoom, blending the folk motifs of both nations into one harmonious melody.A Cultural BridgeThe final touch of the collection is a unique poetry book featuring the works of Abai and Navoi — with verses presented in Kazakh and Old Uzbek, accompanied by annotations and English translations. This book, paired with Qand’s artisanal chocolates, transforms the box into a true cultural bridge, uniting literature, taste, and art in a single story.
